My first giveaway: Scrappy Charm Pack
I'm celebrating! I've been blogging for two months, and it has been So. Much. Fun. Seriously, I feel like I slipped right into this quilting community so naturally - thanks to you guys! Quilting bloggers are so welcoming. :) I sort of feel like I "know" some of you - I love being able to joke around in the emails and on twitter. It's fun having a common passion with such a great group of people! You guys are so great. Warm fuzzies for everyone!
If you are new to my blog - hello and welcome! To get ya started, check out the top links, About Me, Finished Projects, or maybe my latest Work In Progress Wednesday, where we share our current projects.
On to the prize. I cut a charm pack out of some of my favorite fabrics in my stash. There is some designer stuff in there - Moda, Michael Miller, the Ric Rac Rabbits, the Crabtastic Newsprint, as well as some Kona solids. There is also some JoAnn's/Hobby Lobby type fabrics, but I promise they are all soft and wonderful, otherwise I wouldn't put them in this prize.
I think they would be a great start to a scrappy patchwork quilt - I actually cut some for myself while I was at it. :)
The Rules
Be a follower. :) Then leave me a comment (or two, for two chances to win).
Chances to win:
Chance 1. Leave a comment listing one thing you might find in a sewing basket or traveling sewing bag. It's okay if there are repeat answers, be as creative or non-creative as you like. :)
Chance 2. Tweet or facebook about this and let me know ya did! Something like.. "Giveaway @makemeaquilt - scrappy charm pack up for grabs! http://makemeaquilt.blogspot.com/2012/07/my-first-giveaway-scrappy-charm-pack.html"
The giveaway will remain open until Saturday, July 28th, 8pm Eastern time (my birthday!). One winner will be chosen at random and announced shortly after the deadline. If you are not sure if you are a "no-reply" blogger or not, leave your email address in the comment so I can contact you!
Giveaway is open to anyone! Good luck! :)

Congrats and what a collection!
ReplyDeleteI say makeup remover wipes!
Yay for giveaways! The fabrics are adorable especially the little mushrooms. There are likely toys in my sewing box, my kids tend to use Mommy's stuff. lol Congrats on the two months!!!
ReplyDeleteHow generous of you, thank you! There will always be a seam ripper in my kit *sigh*.
ReplyDeleteI'm already a follower! Love the fabrics, thanks for the chance to win :-) I would say you need some bias binding in your sewing box, so you can whip up some bunting using scraps for any celebration at a moments notice!
ReplyDeleteSpare needles are a must for me and a seam ripper. I'm pretty new at the quilting thing but I really enjoy it and I am starting to get the hang of it, I have made a total of five quilts now and each one is a little better than the last.
ReplyDeleteI didn't tweet because I'm not sure how to do that but I did facebook. By the way, Happy Birthday in a few days.
ReplyDeleteSorry last comment I promise, my email is eatkin85@yahoo.com, just in case I win your giveaway :)

ReplyDeleteUgh... I forgot to mention that I follow you by email.
ReplyDeleteHappy almost birthday and congrats on two months of blogging! It is fun, isn't it! In a sewing basket you are bound to find a needle and some thread! Thanks for sharing the scrappy charm pack.
I'm a follower, congrats on two months of blogging and you are definitely hooked now!
ReplyDeleteThe first thing in my sewing basket has to be a seam ripper.....sigh.....hardly a day goes by that I don't use one!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 2 months!! In my sewing basket there are always some cute little scissors and a thimble!
ReplyDeleteI have various colors of thread in my little basket in case I get to a sit and sew and forgot to bring my intended color. Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeletePainkillers. :P
ReplyDeleteLike Advil, c'mon!
Hmm...seems like I always have lint and stray strings in my sewing case! But, in all seriousness, you'll find a scissors, needle and seam ripper along with the lint and the strings. :) Thanks for the great giveaway, I'm a follower even without it, and happy birthday early!
ReplyDeleteI think everyone should have a corkscrew - FMQ demands a wee glass of wine to steady the nerves!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you! I would sing the rest...but I can't sing! But like you, love my quilting hobby. The community is very loving and generous. I always have something to hand bind or hand stitch with me. I can always find a few minutes to work on it while I'm out and about. I one thing in my kit is a needle threader. I can't believe (I'm only 48) that my bifocals aren't enough to thread a needle. I like your group of fabric with words on it. I haven't made anything with words and would like to in the future. I love give aways...thanks! I meet a lot of great quilters this way.
ReplyDeletedefinately my ipod. i like a little beastie boys or neko case while i sew:) thanks for the giveaway. the fabrics are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHey, already a following! I usually have a small knitting project along complete with extra needles! You never know when you might find some cool yarn!
ReplyDeleteAnd one more, maybe some hexi EPP papers!
ReplyDeleteIn my sewing kit, you can always find a tooth floss container, to cut threads on aeroplanes.
ReplyDeleteI think the most important thing in my sewing basket is my seam ripper! It's getting quite a workout as I'm learning.
ReplyDeleteYay for two months, giveaways and birthdays! Unfortunately my sewing basket is always completely empty, because all the contents end up on my table while I am searching for something. Ideally, it would always have my seam ripper in it LOL! Thanks for hosting this giveaway! I *adore* those weird little rabbits :D
ReplyDeleteI tweeted!
ReplyDeleteewing kit - needles lots of needles. The fabrics are too cute. Happy upcoming Birthday.
ReplyDeleteScotch tape...you never know when you might need some! :-)
